Your Role:
We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Human Resources Coordinator to join our growing team. You will play a vital role in our organization, acting as a central point of contact for all HR-related matters. This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager and is responsible for supporting the HR department in various administrative and operational functions, ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of HR processes.

As an HR Coordinator at TryCycle, you are a key contributor to fostering a positive work environment, sustaining our company culture, and enabling the achievement of our strategic business objectives.


  • Leads the recruitment function through creating role descriptions, sourcing candidates, reviewing resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews, following up with leaders and presenting offers.
  • Champions all onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing and delivering new hire orientation and material, assisting with training plans, and conducting exit interviews.
  • Is the first point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, including resolving employee concerns and escalating issues as needed.
  • Supports the performance management process including semi-annual reviews, new hire check-ins, and any follow-up or manager support where required.
  • Provides benefits and compensation-related assistance where required, including administrative support for the employee benefits program, assisting with benefits or compensation-related inquiries, and participates in benchmarking efforts and analysis.
  • Stays up to date with latest HR trends and legislation to remain compliant and bring new ideas, programs, processes, and policies to TryCycle.
  • Collaborates with other team members on special projects, initiatives, programs, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assists in employee development by managing training and other professional development opportunities.

We’re looking for candidates who have:

  • Proficiency in using office software and tools, including calendar and email management, document creation and communication platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of HR laws, regulations and best practices in Canada (United States considered an asset).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of prioritization and multitasking.
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive HR information
  • Experience working with Indigenous populations considered an asset.
  • Experience working in the software or health industry considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism considered an asset.
  • Preference for applicants who identify as Indigenous

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of previous HR experience in a similar role.
  • 2+ years of experience using an HRIS (Human Resources Information System).
  • Must reside in Canada (preference for candidates in Ottawa, Ontario, or surrounding area)
