About You
You are a versatile storyteller and writing professional who can adapt your writing style to suit various contexts, formats, and audiences. Product and Content Marketing Specialist develops, creates, and publishes content that amplifies the unique values of TryCycle’s products, programs, and services and raises awareness of TryCycle’s mission and vision. The person in this role will also work in strides with senior Sales and Marketing team members to create pitch decks and sales support materials. You will write engaging and tailored content to effectively engage your target audience, communicate key messages, and drive desired outcomes in sales and marketing.

In this role, agility and adaptability are paramount. You will be tasked with writing a variety of materials and outputs each week, largely consisting of (2-3 page) sales materials and related assets. The pace will be fast and will require quick turnarounds without compromising quality. You will need to work efficiently and effectively, embracing feedback, edits, and diverse perspectives as part of the creative process. Your ability to quickly produce, refine, and iterate content will be key to success in this dynamic environment.

This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity to join a made-in-Ottawa digital health tech company! As a key member of the Sales and Marketing team, you will be organized, highly resourceful, and able to work autonomously, taking complete ownership and accountability of your work and priorities.


  • Writing engaging and persuasive sales copy for print, web, or other media formats to attract potential customers.
  • Collaborating with the sales team to refine messaging and improve communication strategies.
  • Developing clear and concise product descriptions and sales materials.
  • Creating compelling sales materials, sales proposals, reports, case studies, vision documents, and marketing content for a variety of audiences, industries, and topics.
  • Generating content for sales collateral, such as brochures, flyers, and email campaigns.
  • Researching and integrating industry-specific language to resonate with target markets.
  • Ensuring all sales documentation is compliant with company policies and legal guidelines.
  • Staying updated on product features, benefits, and market trends to inform writing efforts.
  • Writing and finding our “voice” for social media; including but not limited to LinkedIn, Twitter, Media Release, and/or website blog posts.
  • Researching trending topics within a variety of industries.
  • Creating and managing a detailed work plan, including timelines for delivery and a list of required stakeholder inputs and approvals.
  • Communicating updates, progress, and challenges with internal stakeholders.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • The ability to convey stories and complex topics in a clear, captivating, and meaningful way.
  • The ability to adjust writing style to suit various audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to set and manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • The ability to be resourceful by utilizing a wide range of information sources to create technically sound content.
  • Advanced knowledge of word processing software and tools, social media platforms, databases, Internet, and e-mail.
  • A strong desire for collaboration and a commitment to actively seeking out, accepting, and incorporating feedback.
  • Strong public relations, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Bilingualism – French and English (spoken and written) is an asset.
  • Marketing and/or communications experience.

Mandatory Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in business writing or communication.
  • 3+ years of proven writing expertise within a corporate or private sector setting, particularly in contexts involving the development and ongoing evolution of new products.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English/Communications/Journalism and/or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.
  • Must reside in the city of Ottawa or surrounding area.
  • This position will require a background check and training in privacy regulations.

Work Environment

  • This position is hybrid, 50/50 meaning that the expectation is to work 2-3 days per week in person, in our Ottawa office (1525 Carling Avenue).
