June 24, 2024 – Today, The Honourable Jenna Sudds, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development and Member of Parliament for Kanata–Carleton, along with Yasir Naqvi, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health and Member of Parliament for Ottawa Centre, announced an investment of more than $10 million in six growing tech and AI companies in Ottawa.

Among the recipients, TryCycle received $1 million to scale its mental health tech platforms and workforce globally, enhancing its technologies Talking Stick and TetherAll. The funding supports expansion into new markets, including Indigenous and Veteran communities, First Responders, and Students, while creating new employment opportunities and skilled jobs.

The investments from The Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev) support Ottawa-based tech companies, aiming to provide resources that enable their growth and expansion, ensuring Canada’s leadership in research and emerging technologies.

“The six Ottawa companies highlighted today are leaders in the industry, supporting Canada’s place in growing the critical AI sector and helping to keep our place at the forefront of the world’s advanced economies. Together we are taking the necessary steps to enhance our digital solutions and create skilled jobs for Canadians” said The Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.
